‘A Cry In the Dark’
“I don’t think a lot of people realise how important innocence is to innocent people.”
I just finished watching ‘A Cry In the Dark’ - it’s a film based on a true story that occured in Australia, regarding the abduction of a baby by a dingo, and the subsequent charge of murder against the mother, coupled with the worst kind of journalism and prejudice in her fight for justice.
One of those movies that you just don’t forget.
This man should be shot
How many email spam messages do you get a day 40? 50?
Spammers need 1 in 10,000 to respond to make a profit.
This man is one of those 0.01% of the world’s population. Read this article, and wonder how many of these idiots there can really be.
Uni Redevelopment
Students at KCL Strand Campus (that’s me!) have noticed lots of building work recently - apparently we are getting a £40million revamp to the main building. I got an email today with the details including these little gems. Everything within the … is a direct quote.
…exploratory works (to find how the building is actually put together) are visible as otherwise incomprehensible holes in walls and ceilings…
[the building]…has no foundations…
…Stand-up PAWS facilities will also be provided around the campus….(PAWS is the computer network here at King’s - Public Access Workstation System or something like that).
…Enquiry Services will have a desk for dealing with problems. This desk may be unable to take telephone calls (even if the phones are working) so departments should be prepared to send messengers…..
These just fill me with confidence.
