It’s apparently going to take 14 days to repair my phone – if you need to contact me please email instead – thanks.

I hate…

The Crazy Frog. I hate it with a passion.

How far has the curse of the frog gone? Is it merely a European thing, or has it crossed over to the US?

If you don’t know what I’m talking about…

DivX (original video that started it all)
MP3 (this will probably the next UK #1)

(hint – the frog is trying to imitate a moped…)

Another 0.8 release

Dean Edwards has just released IE7 0.8. For the uninitiated, this is JavaScript library that allows Internet Explorer to render (draw/layout) pages in a way that conforms much more closely to the CSS standards than Microsoft’s own efforts. The new release looks quite promising – faster execution, even more IE bugs fixed and more CSS support added.

My favourite new addition is support for CSS3 opacity (as seen in the site footer) – this is something that I suggested to Dean back in late September. 2 quick emails later, and he had it implemented in his developmental version. Nearly 8 months later it has found it’s way into a release (not that I should be complaining about long 0.7-0.8 waits given the delay in getting DVDFolks 0.8 released…)

Other highlights in the new release include better support for printing, removal of image alt-text tooltips, and improvements to generated content support.

My thanks to Dean for doing what Microsoft seem unable to do themselves, as well as putting up with numerous bug reports and enhancement requests from myself. Dean – you’re my hero. ;-)

American (English)

From a Yahoo News story via Fark

The team opened with a 6-yard loss, a 3-yard gain and a 2-yard loss, which would have made it fourth down with 15 yards to go for a first down. The team’s fourth play was just a 7-yard gain, yet it maintained possession for a 12-yard gain and a 4-yard gain on two additional plays.

I understand every word of that paragraph. And yet I have absolutely no idea what it means…

Stats

I just spent most of yesterday revamping the available site statistics – I’m fairly sure I’ve eliminated all the referal(sic) spammers (apologies to anyone who really did find my site on maturewomen-nude.net, dangerousdongs.com or cheaptexaspoker.com – you aren’t counted anymore ;-) )

Benefits include a more accurate view of which countries my visitors are coming from, Firefox version detection and more detailed stats for the individual resource centre parts.
