DVDProfilerCast

What is it?

DVDProfilerCast is a small application developed to enter the cast lists of movies into DVD Profiler. It will read a movie's cast list from IMDb, then interact with the DVD Profiler user interface to enter the data. All this is done from an easy to use wizard interface.

System Requirements

DVDProfilerCast is tested on Windows 2000 with Service Pack 2, Internet Explorer 6.0, and all hot fixes available on the Windows Updates page installed. It is designed to run on the listed configurations, but receive minimal (if any) testing on these systems.

  • Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000 & XP.
  • Internet Explorer 4.0 or newer.
  • DVD Profiler 1.1.0.

Notice to Netscape users: I have seen reports that DVDProfilerCast also works with Netscape. The correct phrase is that it works even though Netscape is installed on the system. DVDProfilerCast use the COM automation interface of Internet Explorer, and can't in any way use Netscape. Notice that even though the "normal" GUI for Internet Explorer isn't installed on your system, the COM services required by DVDProfilerCast are likely to be installed.

Download

Before downloading, please read the readme file for instructions on installing and using DVDProfilerCast.

Note that there are problems running the automatic mode with DVD Profiler 2.0 - often roles and actor names will not be filled out. Please use the automatic for now. I am awaiting the release of the SDK to investigate if it is possible to make DVDProfilerCast a plugin instead of an independent program before I decide if I should spend time fixing it as I do not have the time to fix this as well as making the plugin.
